Join Yeshe to pack up our August Isis altar and install our new altar for September in connection with the Mt Shasta Goddess Temple.
Our September altar is dedicated to Magu, the Chinese Taoist Immortal who created the elixir of life with cannabis and white wine. Her name is comprised of two characters: Ma and Gu, which depict hemp plants hanging to dry in a shed, and the syllable for "priestess," "nun," "great-aunt," or "elder woman." In myth, she has a tiger's tail and long, curling fingernails. She is Xiamanic, timeless, and complex: a mystery goddess of nature, herbs, and astronomy.
All are welcome to this altar-building event, free of charge.
