The
Goddess Rising: Women, Power and Priestesshood in the new ageA class for women who feel the power of the Goddess emerging in their lives, with a creative eye toward sharing their unique gifts with their loved ones and the world. This class is especially suited for mothers, artists, and professional women who wish to experience Goddess energy in real-time on a more profound level.
Theme for July: Mother of the Universe
What is the role of Mother in our society? In the Universe? In this class, we’ll evaluate the archetype of Mother and all of the strong emotions and reactions this archetype creates in our culture. The role of Mother is a loaded, contested, valuable and joyful aspect that women experience in various ways: physically, mentally, emotionally, or by association. Together, we’ll unpack the role and co-create new resonance for this archetype of the Goddess.
The intimacy of sisterhood is of vital importance for our work, and so class size will be limited to 9 women per cycle. Please call to reserve your space for the 2010 cycle today.

The Sacred Well will be hosting a closing reception for Christy Kovacs' solo show. Original artwork will be for sale along with greeting cards and small prints. Wine and refreshments will be served.
Christy was born in Santa Barbara in 1983. In high school she participated
in drawing & painting mentorships with local Santa Barbara artists,
culminating in shows at the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum and the
Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Greatly inspired by her teachers and mentors
in high school, yet understandably timid about pursuing a career in art,
Christy painfully passed up art school at Rhode Island School of Design
to get a "real" education at the University of California at
Berkeley, choosing to major in Anthropology. However, one cannot run for
too long from the things that tug at one's heart strings, and after her
long hiatus from art, she has returned to it, hungrily.
Christy's preferred medium fluctuates between oil, acrylic, watercolor,
gouache, and pastel. She is currently working on a series she calls the "Blue
Woman Series", exploring issues of femininity and times of transition,
growth, and introspection.
