About Barry

Barry Perlman (astrobarry) is a writer, astrologer, artist and mystic who grew up in the Bay Area but considers the whole world his playground. Since 2002, he has shared his astrological wisdom on his website, http://www.astrobarry.com, where visitors from all over the globe enjoy his weekly horoscopes and other writings. His horoscopes have appeared in Australia’s FAMOUS Magazine and The Livingston Weekly, as well as on BettyConfidential.com. Barry has also appeared in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on radio in the US and Australia.

In addition to his astrology practice, Barry brings a lifelong love of rocks and crystals to The Sacred Well, as well as extensive experience working with aromatherapy oils. Prior to becoming a full-time astrologer, Barry served as General Manager of Zia Natural Skincare. He holds a Bachelor's in English from Duke and a Master’s in Humanities from NYU (where his final thesis, "Sex, Magic and Shannen Doherty", took on a feminist examination of TV’s Charmed).

Barry's interests include reading, writing, cooking, eating, travel, exercise, taking digital photos, watching crappy TV, flipping through magazines, and playing with his lovable dog JoJo.

"Astrobarry is a poet wrapped in an oracle wrapped in Woody Allen and then wrapped in the stars. Hilarious, smart, and uncannily right on the money. I waver between skepticism and belief, and Barry makes you feel like there is definitely something up with the planets and their effect on us. Better than a year of therapy!"
